Mechelen – One Placing, Once Bad Luck
On Christmas Day Heike made for the big tournament in Mechelen with her Saxony-Anhalt stallion Royal Rubin, at the same time the fifth World-Cup-station of the West-Europe-league. In the Grand Prix they came sixth which was more than enough for the qualification for the World-Cup Freestyle.
There the pair really got going and presented a fine Freestyle which unfortunately was later annulled, however. After completion it was over for the two due to a minor injury Rudi was suffering from. "He must have bitten his lip so that a bit of pink froth showed at the mouth, and according to the FEI-rules any injury, no matter how small, means disqualification", so Heike. Mariette Withages, head of the jury, convinced herself right after the ride of the insignificance of the small wound.

"Rides of the Century" at Warendorf's Theater am Wall – an Event of the Personal Members of the FN
During this event the audience will be presented the most outstanding rides of the past century in word and pictures. The evening will be hosted by show-jumper Janne-Friederike Meyer and Christoph Hess who will give an entertaining and illustrative account of the development in equitation in the past century, peppered with very personal experiences and anecdotes of the participating riders on stage. Many active athletes, Heike among them, will take part and comment on the rides.

Autograph Session at Horse & Hunt 2008 in Hannover
At Europe's biggest exhibition all about Riding, Hunting, and Fishing Heike will be giving autographs in hall 23 on Sunday.

Late Entry Sittensen - Riedinger won his first ever M/A
At this show 7-year-old Riedinger (Rubinstein/Prestige Pilot) won his first ever M/A test. Quantico had a debut as well – he came third in his first Grand Prix. With Actuado Heike missed the placements because of a little mistake: “Well, I was totally focused on my horse and so I took the wrong way. This had been my fault , Acti did quite well.” Heike said after the show.

He did it again – Royal Rubin earned more FEI World Cup-Points

In Saturdays Grand Prix he proved of value in the strong field of competitors. 66,667% brought him and Heike rank seven and the go-ahead for the World Cup-freestyle on Sunday.
His Kür with a score of 75,650% was good for the fourth place and assured him important points for the Western European League as well.

Federal President Köhler Presents "Silver Laurel"
"Each and everyone of you deserves special credit. You contributed to the achievements of the German team in Peking which are absolutely respectable despite one or the other disappointment", said Köhler when he honoured the 132 athletes at the Tempodrom in Berlin. The German athletes won 41 olympic and 59 paralympic medals in Peking and Hong Kong. President Köhler personally awarded every single one of the 132 athletes present the highest national prize of the Federal Republic of Germany for outstanding achievements in sports. In his closing speech he found these words: "Stay as you are and stay what the Silver Laurel honours: Models of power and personality."

Clinic in Siegen

At the training stables of the Wassmann family in Siegen-Volnsberg Heike held a clinic for eight students over the weekend. "All students were on a remarkably consistent and good riding level that we could build up on without problems. Working with them was great fun. All in all it was a very relaxed and hospitable stay here in Siegerland", said Heike afterwards. |

Heike as Guest at the Opening of Dressage Stables in Belgium
The newly-built "QC Stables" in Belgian Sint Niklaas have high ambitions regarding schooling and marketing of horses. There will be a wide fringe programme which will include Heike with some training units.

This weekend at Kröpcke-Mall in Hannover NKR e.V. will collect donations with a VIP-sale and autograph sessions. Heike will take part from 3 p.m. on Sunday

This time Heike started with her two chestnuts Actuado and Quantico. Actuado came fifth in the S5 and Quantico second.

"Global Dressage Forum" in Dutch Hooge Mierde
In the world of international dressage riding this forum has become established since 2001. Not only international judges, riders, trainers, and experts but also interested people from all over the world have the opportunity to discuss the latest developments in dressage and to inform themselves about current progress regarding schooling and the sports political background of dressage riding.
This annual, worldwide unique forum does not only address itself to "insiders", but with the participation of experts and scientists from other sports it also provides many new ideas and possibilities to help develop and spread classic dressage sport.23 – 26 October
"German Classics" – The Top Event at the Trade Fair Halls in Hannover

In the Grand Prix the score of 70,208% meant a victory against all competitors for Royal Rubin and Heike. For the freestyle on Sunday morning some 0.15% where missing and so they came second behind Isabell Werth and First Class. But there was still an award to be received – the one for the most successful dressage rider at the show – and that prize went to Heike. |

Stallion Market and Licensing in Hannover
At Niedersachsenhalle in Verden the best young stallions of 2006 will have to face up to the decision of the Licensing Committee. About 100 young stallions and their breeders and owners will be awaiting the judgment "licensed" or "not licensed". This will be passed by Heike and her colleagues. www.hannoveraner.com |

Worldcup-Tournament in Hungarian Kaposvár – Worldcup Points for "Royal Rubin" and Victories and Placings for "Actuado"
Already on Tuesday, 7 October, Doreen drove with the horses Royal Rubin and Actuado towards Hungary. Stopover during this long travel was Austrian Alkoven near Linz. With them as second driver was Hans-Günter Grunke. Everything worked out extremely well and the horses reached their destination Kaposvár next day. Heike who also had to train her other horses at home followed by plane on Wednesday. |
