Heike's Royal Rubin was pretty successful in Gothenburg's Scandinavium as well. An eighth place in the Grand Prix was enough for the pair to participate in the freestyle where they came sixth and collected world cup points.

Worldcup Points for Royal Rubin

In Neumünster Heike and her Saxony-Anhalt stallion Royal Rubin were able to collect points for the Worldcup as well. In the Grand Prix they came eighth, in the Freestyle tenth. "I can't tell from the minutes what the reasons were, to me it felt better than what the score represents. But there's no reason to sulk, everything worked out fine and my Rudi moved very, very well", so Heike after the last test.

Event and Training Day at Riding Club Königsbronn

Heike had hardly set foot on German ground again after her stay in the USA when she headed south already, more precisely to Königsbronn-Zang near Ulm. Here she gave a one-day-clinic for a group of riders from Riding Club Königsbronn. At the same time the two horse experts Prof. Dr. Holger Preuschoft and Dr. Parvis Falaturi lectured on "Biomechanics of Riding" and "The Mechanics of the Aids". To the interested audience was presented a training device of the Marquis Company from Herbrechting which has already been used by Heike for her horses for two years now. The horses are standing on four vibrating platforms whose vitomechanic vibrations have an effect on the muscular system, joints, tendons and other parts of the body. "This relaxes as well as builds up the muscles. The passive movement achieves a lot and I can only say that I notice distinct and positive changes in my horses, especially in the back, since the use of this vibrating plate", so Heike. At the end of this day Heike got to sign the visitors' book of Königsbronn which Mayor Michael Stütz had brought along with him, and the riding club's quadrille presented a specially rehearsed performance.

Two "Clinics" in the USA

In 2007 already during a clinic Heike met Lyndon Rife und Todd Bryan who are successful dressage riders in the USA. This year now they organized clinics of their own to which they invited Heike. The first stop was Argyle, Texas where Heike taught for four days on the premises of "Stargate Sporthorses". Organized byLyndon Rife and supported by some sponsors ten riders with thirteen horses took part, and under the eyes of many keen spectators everything centred on dressage in those four days.

The Premises

Under their experienced riders the horses – all of them between levels M and Grand Prix – rose to the occasion. Heike: "You could see that the foundation for advanced studies was good. The riders were able to put everything into action and there were definite improvements within a very short time. I could give everyone tips for the daily practice and I think this will render their daily work more effective."
Heike with Lyndon

One evening the participants and guests were invited to a special dinner – after the meal Heike's rides with Bonaparte in Hong Kong were shown, commented on by herself. On the whole the participants saw three quite entertaining days.

The second stop was Union Bridge, Maryland. Here Todd Bryan and his wife Rebecca have been running their training stables since 1987. Todd took part in Heike's clinic with six horses, the other teaching units were divided out among his students. Due to Heike's intensive collaboration with Eckart Meyners, a german Professor of Sports Physiology and Body Movement, she was able to give good advice – besides the training on horseback – for exercises "on the mat" for a better and smoother seat in the saddle.

Both organizers were completely enthusiastic and rejoiced about their own progress and that of their horses.
Bottom line: The wish for another clinic in September was promptly expressed – and will surely come true. "The hospitality which I enjoyed during my stay simply comes from the heart. It is wonderful if clinics don't just work out well but if also all the little things besides are so much fun", said Heike after the clinic.
